JUL 2012 - Wood Trends: This year we have seen a continued growing trend towards the use of natural timbers for interiors and loose furniture. Australian interiors are focusing more and more on natural materials and finishes to create warm interiors. Our pieces have recently been featured a range of timber focused blogs + magazines including: Wood in Design, Habitus Living, Grassroots and Inaluxe which focus heavily on timber furniture.


JUN 2012 - Our Luka Side Cabinet is selected as a finalist for this years IDEA Awards 2012. for Since its inception in 1996, (Inside) has been presenting the latest in local and international design projects to a talented, sophisticated and innovative audience. The magazine profiles the best new residential, retail, workplace, hospitality and product design, with thoughtful and considered discussion of contemporary design issues and themes. For ten years, (Inside) has played an important role in supporting the Australian design industry through the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), rewarding the work of established and still-emerging designers as well as promoting the best of Australian design to an international audience.


MAY 2012 - Miter lounge was featured in the Sydney Morning Herald showcasing a growing trend towards natural wool felts: ‘For centuries, felt has been used for more prosaic purposes - clothing, carpet and shelter, particularly in cold, harsh climates. It is probably our first textile but its exact origins have been lost to folklore - in tales of fibre being matted together through humidity and friction, beneath the soles of tired shepherd boys or girls who cried themselves to sleep. Now, felt is proving popular among contemporary artists and designers. Tough, warm and sustainable, it absorbs sound, insulates against cold and heat and repels fire - and can be cut like paper or moulded like clay.


MAY 2012 - Congratulations to Ian Halliday of BKH for taking out the top prize at this years Belle Coco Republic Interior Design Awards for which we produced a custom entertainment for one of the featured residential projects. The Belle Coco Republic Interior Design Awards celebrates the best in the Australian interior design industry. Interior designers, architects, stylists and bloggers alike were invited to witness the announcement on Wednesday 16th May at the Coco Republic showroom in Alexandria.


APR 2012 - We will be exhibiting a range of pieces at Design Ex from the 14 – 16 May 2012 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. Come say hello! Design-Ex is Australia’s largest interiors, design & architecture event featuring brands in furniture, textiles, lighting, architecture, bathrooms, appliances & surfaces. designEX 2012 offers a progressive speaker and event series, featuring renowned local and international design thinkers.

NOV 2011 - CDR furniture is showcased in the latest issue of Inside magazine for the Miter lounge and Spline pendant light.


OCT 2011 - CDR furniture are showcased in the latest issue of Melbourne based magazine red within the red living guide.


SEP 2011 - CDR furniture supply three custom built Jye Tables for the establishment of the Barrett House Sustainability Demonstration project which provides residents of the Eastern suburbs the opportunity to see practical sustainability measures at work. The tables were hand made from a range solid Australian timbers including Blackbutt, Spotted Gum and Jarrah finished 100% natural Danish oil.


AUG 2011 - Run by (inside) magazine, IDEA celebrates the most innovative and inspiring interior and product design from across Australia. The prestigious awards program receives hundreds of submissions from across Australia each year and is recognised by the design community as the country’s pre-eminent design awards program. This year two of our products have been short-listed for the programme, the Miter lounge and the Spline pendant light. IDEA winners will be announced in November at the 2011 Gala Party at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), Melbourne.


AUG 2011 - We are exhibiting two of our pieces as part of Workshopped 11 featuring Australian contemporary furniture design. Our Dye Table and our Miter Lounge were selected for the annual exhibition as part of the Australian Design Week. WHAT: WORKSHOPPED 11, WHEN: August 4th - 13th, WHERE: Hill Street Design Precinct, 8 Hill Street Surry Hills NSW.


JUL 2011 - Belle feature our Spline Light in the latest magazine, showcasing the product and it’s geometric design.

JUL 2011 - Gaffa Gallery exhibit a range of our pieces as part of a showcase of Australian furniture and object design. We were excited to have our Herring Lamp, Bow Mirror, Jye stools/tables and star coffee table exhibited, some of which will form part of their permanent retail collection.

JUN 2011 - Craft Design Realisation has collaborated with renowned Sydney based graphic designer Kate Banazi to produce a range of new screen printed artworks for the CDR showroom. Each unique piece ranging from up to 2.4m is size are hand printed and framed complimenting CDR’s commitment to Australian design + made products. Kate Banazi’s beautiful graphic artworks are on display and for sale through CDR’s showroom located in Waterloo Sydney.
